MR BARVAL FINE WINES

Mr Barval is a small batch producer in Margaret River run by husband & wife team Rob & Kellie Gherardi, they strive to produce consistently high-quality wines by maintaining strong relationships growers of the best vineyard sites (including their recently purchased vineyard & cellar door). The grapes used are sourced from some of the oldest and most respected vineyards in the region and the quality speaks for itself. This pristine fruit and old-world approach are what form the classic Mr. Barval style. This weekend we have the Vino Rosso, Cabernet Malbec and Chardonnay open to taste or to enjoy by the glass.

FROGMORE CREEK

Wine Loft Special & Tasting | 27th - 2nd Mar 2025

The wines of Frogmore Creek wines are engaging, elegant, and well balanced - grown in the cool climate of Tasmania, paired with French winemaking techniques produce benchmark Chardonnay and Pinot Noir of the region. Along with sustainable practices in the vineyard, the grapes benefit from a long, slow growing season perfect for purity and fresh natural acidity. Minimal intervention winemaking allows the grapes to speak for themselves and showcase the terroir they come from.

Daniel Bouland is renowned for creating deep yet superbly balanced wines even in these warmer, drier years such as the 2023. Pound for pound, these are arguably the best-value fine French reds we receive each year, but they are much more than that – they are thrilling, terroir driven and as pure as they come. Open in the Wine Loft will be three Beaujolais from different soils across Morgon including the Bellevue Cailloux, Corcelette 'Vieilles Vignes' and Délys 'Vignes de 1926' – available to taste or dine in by the glass in the Wine Loft.

CONFIT DUCK

Housemade, Ready to Cook

Our in-house butchers have created the most succulent, fragrant confit in duck fat, oranges, thyme and garlic. This is ready to cook at home and enjoy alongside a fresh salad or seasonal roast vegetables, sure to impress your loved one. Simply place the ready to cook confit in boiling water for ten minutes before pan searing, creating the perfect crispy duck skin.

Our first batch of local pomegranates sourced from Gingin have arrived in our produce department. Juicy, sweet and tangy with many health benefits, this fruit works well in sweet and savoury dishes. Extract the juicy jewel-like seeds and enjoy on their own or liven up salads, couscous dishes, cocktails and desserts!

Woodside Florence is an exclusive lactic-fermented goats cheese. A true celebration of subtlety and complexity, nurtured to perfection through a long fermentation period under gentle temperatures. Its paste offers a gentle acidity and nuanced flavours, with a luscious, fudge-like texture developing beneath the rind as it ripens. Named after the head cheesemakers first daughter, this cheese is truly one of a kind.

Our grocery department currently stocks Brussels Ketjep craft sauces from Belgium including; Red Devils (tomato sauce with a hint of curry), Cowboy (hickory style BBQ sauce), Bravas (made for patatas bravas or any form of potatoes), Dallas (best served on fries, burgers, mussels steak tartare, meatballs and pizza) and Ketjep.

BI-COLOUR CORN

Wanneroo, WA

2 for $1 in the produce department, bi-colour corn is known for its high sugar, low starch content. When fresh, the kernels can be cut away from the cob and added to potato, green, or pasta salads, or tossed with other raw summer vegetables and herbs as a simple corn salad.
