Cherubino, Margaret River 2023 'Ovale' Dijon Chardonnay
The 2023 Cherubino ‘Ovale’ Dijon Chardonnay was made using clones 95 and 96 in equal parts, from the picturesque Wychwood vineyard in Karridale. Handpicked and whole bunch pressed into 60% new French oak this wine shows all the brilliant characters of the exemplary 2023 vintage. It is a more delicate chardonnay than those made using the powerhouse Gingin clone, but this has intensity and tremendous drive through the palate. Light lemon curd and brioche with a citrus and pear character laced with a little cashew and a lovely crisp, chalky acidity to finish.
